We DO NOT install software/applications, repair, or troubleshoot any Personal* PCs, laptops, mobile devices, home networks and home internet. There are a number of reasons why this is our IT policy including, but not limited to:

1. General liability issues
2. May void your product purchased warranty and/or manufacturer's warranty
3. Other unforeseeable factors that may occur
4. Your PC can introduce harm to the City's Network by unleashing a virus, malware, bots, DoS attacks, etc...
5. Your PC does not have the appropriate security tools configured to render it safe for use on the City's Network

6. Your PC may not have the minimum hardware requirements to run department software

7. Your PC may not have the appropriate supported operating system and configuration to run department software


If you need a department compliant issued PC laptop/device(s) so you can work remotelyplease have your "supervisor" send a quote request via email directly to: pat.cox@sfgov.org


Department compliant and supported hardware devices are easily identifiable by its Asset Tag sticker which includes our department's abbr. name "SFRPD", telephone number, barcode and asset number (see image below):





* Personal PC includes donated and/or any non (REC) issued device. You can always reserve a department loaner PC laptop if one is available for checkout.
